Life's a beach

This past weekend Chris, Peetee and I headed to the beach for a few days.  We stayed in a place called The Overlook.  The place was built in the 30's and has ton's of charm.  There are 7 units in the building all owned by separate individuals.  We stay in the Penthouse, owned by Ted and Vann an adorable dutch couple.  I was sad to see the for sale sign in the window and to find out Ted just died and Vann is in a nursing home.  I wanted to include some very special images that I am afraid will not be there next time we stay.  Here is there wedding photo from 1945.

After reading several entries in the pile of guest books I found out this couple had been staying here just like us until the individual units went up for sale.  They, along with a couple of friends, bought the place and have owned it since 1970.

Check out this crazy wallpaper in the bathroom.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous and so is Chris on this rock!

We even got up early and checked out the tide pools!

The sunsets were amazing and my favorite part of the weekend, a time for quiet reflection.

The most important thing I was reminded of this weekend is that life is short, enjoy time with those you love and be in the moment it's the only thing you got!

Thanks to Ted and Vann for sharing there very special place with us and countless others.  May we be as happy as they seem.
