Candy Heart

I am feeling much better after a nice and mellow weekend.  Thanks so much for all the great suggestions on ways to chill out.  I started reading the Game of Thrones (for the second time, now I'm hooked) took Dad out for his Birthday and made some delicious dinners for Chris and I. Peetee got some long walks down by the pond and I made another trip to my new favorite bath shop LUSH and got some yummy bubble bath.
I thought I'd dress extra bright for my outing with Dad, he embarrasses so easily these days.
I was feeling pretty in pink and red in this latest thrift store find.
I think this is seriously my new favorite dress and at $5 well worth it!
Check out the back.
Peetee loved it too.
Necklace made by me with a killer Aztec calendar.
Look at how sweet the sleeves are!
I think this is the best picture I have of my Dad and I.
I didn't really grow up with him but I'm happy to have him in my life now.
We are all crazy for our dogs in this family.
It's Monday and yesterday doesn't matter so let's just be in this moment! Have a great day everyone!

Anything but Mellow Yellow

Friday, thank you for finally getting here!  Tomorrow my Dad comes over and we head out to celebrate his Birthday with some greasy burgers. I'm really over junk food after last weekend. This week I made the most delicious adobo chicken and today I have a huge pot of beans simmering in the crock pot.  I feel my best when I'm eating good.
I can't wait until its warm enough for some bare leg action! I think we are almost there!
I went to the doctor this week as I have been unable to sleep lately and Monday I had a wee panic attack, it was like nothing I have ever felt. I couldn't catch my breath and I was barely able to make it through my work day.  This is the first time in my life I felt overwhelmed and unable to cope. It was awful.
I talked to this doctor for about an hour.  She gave me a clean bill of health and said that I might want to get my hormone levels checked to see if that might be the cause. I'm not ready for that new reality.  I've made some changes to my nighttime routine and have slept better the last two nights. I have been taking Melatonin (non prescriptive or additive) and that seems to help as well. I was happily surprised when she weighed me (as I don't believe in owning a scale)  I am at my lowest weight since college. All of this Zumba and eating right has me pretty lean.  I need to get better at not letting work stress me out, that is a huge part of it.
Taking better care of myself is a constant project. I still call my Mom and Step Dad when life gets me down.  They always know just what to say and are great listeners.  I would be lost without them.  Chris has been so sweet and understanding too trying his best to help me out anyway he can.
My Mom wants my natural red hair back.
Skull ring I found on ebay for $5.  They said it was Betsey Johnson, straight from her factory in China :) Did you hear she filed for bankruptcy?
I love this butterfly belt so much that I have it in two other colors.
To all of you beautiful, wise and compassionate women who read my blog, thank you for caring!  The connections I've made with you are real, enduring and so satisfying.  You are all so easy to LOVE!

Have a wonderful weekend!  XXOO

The Ultimate form of Flattery!

I really don't know what to say except that this illustration done by the gorgeous and talented Edie Pop over at Factory Mom has me dancing and singing the day away! LALALALALALALAAAAAA! If you haven't checked her out already you simply must!  She has a love of color and patterns apparent in her creations, a free and playful spirit seen in her self portraits, and a sense of humor that everyone needs to master this game of life! Thank you so much my dear, Peetee and I are honored!!!!

I swear I want this tattooed on me, NOW!

Beautiful disgust

Let's get right to it shall we.  The gum wall was bright beautiful, smelly, alive with color and germs. I loved it as much as I thought I would.
Am I really licking it? You will never know.

I loved the gum running down the window seal.

It smelled in the heat of the sun.

Apparently it's a great way to advertise.
Have you had enough?  Just a few more then.

They also had some cool graffiti.
 I'm thinking "People of Walmart"
Upstairs was the famous Pikes Place market.  It was packed since it was also Earth day.
I could eat fish everyday if it was this fresh!
The flowers and produce were gorgeous!
The street performers were out in full force, she was my favorite.

She had the prettiest blue eyes!
We even found that troll under a bridge.
He has a hub cap for an eye and in his hand is a VW bug.
Of course we had to poke his eye and pick his nose :)
Everyone enjoyed the day even the troll.
I can't wait to go back and check out some of the thrift stores, they were everywhere!
