Three MC's and One DJ

Some things are just pure bliss, like the gargantuan moon we all saw this weekend and face to face conversations with my sister, quiet nights in with Chris and the animals, time spent with friends.  Some music is like that for me and The Beastie Boys tops that list of pure unadalterated good friggin' times.  We lost someone dear this weekend, Adam "MCA" Yauch, cancer takes another great one.  Thank you for sharing your badassery with the world! I'm honored that you rocked my mine and a thousand others on that warm summer night in Los Angeles.  I can still remember the outfit I wore right down to my favorite pair of Adidas.  I miss you already.
In 1987 with RUN D.M.C

"All top secret and classified
I grab a hold of the mic and let the words glide
It's all hypnotic and sanctified
I never wanna let a bad day slip by."

Words to live by if you ask me :) now go and rock the shit outta Heaven you have some great company up there.

This is a bad, bad news..I love Beastie Boys, their style and music are unique ..I've watched few months ago their latest video/short film "Fight for your Right Revisited" and it's awesome!!There's the best cast ever featured in a music video: from Steve Buscemi (I love him!) to Chloe Sevigny!

Such a fabulous and energetic band, Fight For Your Right To Party brings back fond memories of wild nights.
Adam Yauch brought pleasure to millions in his short life, hope he's up there with all the other legends having a jam session in the sky.
Hope you had a fab weekend, dying to catch up proper!
Love ya! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A lovely tribute Krista. I too loved their energy and style. I reckon you could fill the missing gap, but you're far too girly to be a beastie boy.
It's so sad when a talented and charismatic person dies young.

Glad you've had some quality time with your nearest and dearest.
Have a brilliant week.

This is very sad. So young too. Fight For Your Right to Party is a classic party anthem. Been thinking a lot about deceased musical heroes lately, particularly Kurt, then this :( x

I've been listening to Beasties since I was a kid - my sister had Licensed to Ill on vinyl and I used to pinch it off her and play it when she went out! Its still one of my all time favourite albums. I was lucky enough to see them live 3 times in the past ten years, and awesome every time. MCA was a legend and will be missed

Agreed Krista - I haven't posted about Adam because some things are just too sad and I feel I can't do his story justice - but your post is a perfect memorial - thank you. Love you! Sarah xxx
