Flower Cloth

I think I found my people:)  The Hmong are an Asian ethnic group from the mountainous regions of China, Vietnam, Laos and China.  They are know for creating beautiful textile art by embroidery.  The patterns are often bold geometric shapes with bright contrasting colors.  In a way they remind me of the colorful folks we met at Uros Islands when we went to Peru.

I actually bought this panel below as I have a big old denim bag I never use and I want to funk it up a bit.
 Incredible details.

All of these were found at Kulshi Mumkin. I am loving all of these bags at Shop Thailand made with their fabric.

Can you guess which one I could not live without?
I know these shoes could just be the prettiest things ever to be put on anyone's feet.

All of these found at Siamese Dream Design.

I hope I left you all with some yummy happy brightness as we head into the weekend.  Mine is sure to be pretty packed ~ I'll be spending time with a 6 year old and a 80 year old!

Wow! what mind blowing designs and colours and perfect for our Krista! Those boots are stunning and that piece of fabric will be fantastic on a boring denim bag! I do love ethnic design.
Your weekend sounds like mine, we're out for Liz's 40th and her parents and 6 year old nephew are coming too. I'm bound to do or say something inappropriate and have to sit in the naughty corner all night.
Have a fab weekend, my rainbow warrior!
Love you! xxxx

A 6 year old and an 80 year old? Sounds like a bi-polar weekend, haha!

I can see why you are drawn to those textiles. Just your colors. I love them too. My in-laws are from Panama and they have some gorgeous Mola patterns too. I love them so much I covered all my light switch covers with photos of them. There's a project for you! ;)

Oh yes, these are all SO you, Krista! What fabulous colours and designs, the boots are just amazing, and I love all the panels and the pom poms.
It does sound as though you are in for a busy weekend. I love the combination of young and old, the conversations between my youngest (6) and my mum (88) are priceless!
Local festival, making
Pimms and dinner for my visiting friend, then out to the pub with lots of lovely ladies to celebrate my birthday, that's the shape of my weekend. Can't wait! xxxxx
