Old Friends and New Memories!

Is it Friday yet?  I know how can I say that on a Monday but this Friday is when I head to San Diego so it just can't get here soon enough.

I had a pretty low key weekend but it was spent with people I really enjoy and that makes anything ordinary pretty extraordinary.   I met up with my friend Gwen, the only friend I still have from high school and saw her little girl who is now almost 5.  Our friendship has endured almost 24 years and although we have had our share of hard times we still remain close.  We are very different people now but we can respect those differences and that is what I call real friendship!

I wanted to wear something bright and cheery and here is what I wore:)
 Can you spot my kitty?

My bag finally arrived all the way from Thailand.  Two new bags in one week :)
I picked up this dress at Ross for $11 on clearance, I guess it was too loud for most but I love it!
 Bangles a plenty!
Barry M Orange polish sent to me from sweet Vix.
 Necklace made by me :)
Since Gwen and I were so busy catching up we didn't snap any pictures of us together.  She did take this one of me and her daughter, who by the way is most adorable!
However here is an oldie and a goodie.  This picture is about 15 years old and long before my obsession with color began.
These next two pictures are about 5 years old.
Here's to friendships that not only endure but continue to grow.
What do you think makes a good friend and how long is your longest friendship?

You sure scored the perfect bag! And you're WowsaSexy in that dress!!! I keep meaning to check Ross for maxis but I forget because Value Village is right next door up here in Seattle.
I had an all black stage right before all this color too. Refreshing isn't it?
I have a friend from junior high but we don't get to see each other often. Mostly communicate through e-mails. They're better than sisters sometimes though. Nothing like an old friend!

I can testify that you looked totally and utterly beautiful yesterday! That frock is astoundingly fabulous and the jewellery and bag are wonderful!!! The pair of you have got even more fabulous over the last 15 years and those 1990s revival platforms you and Gwen are rocking make me with I'd still got mine!!
Gwen's daughter & Peetee are too cute!
Liz & I have been friends for 41 years next March, how scary is that?
Love you & so fab to chat! xxxxxxx

Your bag as well, heck your whole outfit, and accesories!!

My longest friendship is a friend from middle school 21 years and still the best of friends, we do live 1800 miles apart but talk daily and see each other as much as possible, she is more my sister than friend.

Hope Friday gets here fast for you trips are always fun!!

Spiky orange bracelet rules the world. I recently caught up with a very old friend. I have known and been friend with her for over 15 years. It's insane when you feel like no time has past, but so much has happened.

I have to say, you look 1000x's better full of color than dressed in head to toe black :)

The new bag goes perfectly with the maxi. I can probably count close girlfriends on one hand...and they are those who can pick up where we left off, sometimes after years.

Ooh I love this gorgeous maxi - so flowy and happy and beautiful - LIKE YOU! The bangles are all FABULARSEHOLE and yay for crouching tiger kitties! Your friend is gorgeous too. I have been friends with my oldest friend for 30 years... we don't see each other very often any more - we live thousands of km apart - but I know I can call her any time, night or day. And that makes for a good friend. And LOVE! Sarah xxx

I love that frock - so YOU! The bag from Thailand is awesome too - I really want to go back to Thailand!!

It's so great that you have a friend from high school that you're still close too. When I was at a wedding at the start of the year, I realised that I had known some of my friends from uni for over 15 years...wow!!

That maxi, bag, and bangles are singing all over you! You look fantastic in this. Friends? I'd say a friend is someone who shares positive energy with you, someone who doesn't siphon off more energy they give in return.

Your dress is such a perfect match for your hair, love it! My oldest friend I've known nearly 33 years - since we were 3 years old at nursery school. She now lives with her daughter on the same street as my folks - typical as I'm now 200 miles away! I guess the fact that we can ring/see each other infrequently but it's still the same means it's a good friendship.

It's such fun to see how you guys have changed over the years, I may have to dig out some pics of us at kiddie birthday parties!

That bag is just so you! perfect.

My best friend I met when I was 16 and had moved to Oxford. We had a mutual acquantance Jo who had described us to each other before we met, we both admitted afterwards we had thought the other sounded awful from the description! We bonded over music and have never looked back.

Such gorgeous photos - love you colourful newer look, but the blast from the past is fab too :-)
True friends are those that stick around no matter what life throws into the great tapestry of life. Bad ones are those that suck the life out of you, emotionality, then do a disappearing act the one time you need them... luckily I have only had one bad one and some really good ones. Longest friendship...26 years. We met as school kids and have followed each other around the world one way or another. When we get together we just pick up where we left off...

I prefer colourful Krista but I love slinky in black, 90s Krista too. That bag is perfect for you and I love your dress too! I think you'd love India, they adore pink and orange out there. Ooh when you come to the UK you might find some great fabric in our Asian clothes shops
