Humdrum conundrum

This week has been a mixture of boredom and business as usual at work.  After 15 years of doing the same thing (selling industrial video equipment) occasionally it gets a bit dull.  A typical day for me starts at 7, I chat on the phone and send out emails all day long.  If I'm lucky I end my day about 4.  My industry has changed so much over the years and the fact that I am still here making a decent living is something I am very grateful for.  However, I do miss being passionate about what I do.
Thanks to my lucky stars ~I have this blog.  It satisfies a part of me that was asleep before.  I have made real connections here and feel like we have all helped to create a supportive community of like minded freaks.  Life is so much better when you make shit happen!
Now onto something trivial and fabulous! These are two recent hat finds.  The above is a Betsey Johnson and was $15.  I adore its die cut hearts.  The one below was $7 and comes with ears and a bow!
Our little kitty Ash is getting better.  She has ripped out almost all her stitches but the wound looks like it's healing.  I still wonder what she did to get such an awful wound.  I bet it was epic.

Lately I have been focusing on adding some new art to the house.  I just found this gorgeous small picture of two sisters from the 1900's. How beautiful are the clothes! I can't wait to find just the right frame for it!
I am also waiting for this right now.  I'm going to mount it over the fireplace of course!
I can't tell you how much I adore this!

You got the deer head! that one's even better than the one we drooled over in Ambleside...it's purple!!
Loving the hats. that purple heart one is the bomb! What a bargain!
You look so beautiful in that top picture, I'm so glad you subscribed to the society of freaks, it wouldn't be the same without you.
Poor Ash, I wonder what she did? Glad things are healing, cat's are such devils for tearing out stitches.
Loving the vintage snap!
Miss you right back, dying to chat!
Love you lots! xxxxxxxxx

What a waste that you are behind a computerscreen when you have such a charismatic appearance.

I suppose most people have jobs which just make the money rather than feed the soul. You're lucky if you find a job that manages both, I think.
So keep blogging, darling Krista, our community of freaks needs you!
I adore that purple heart hat, and a purple stag? How cool is that? Your vintage sisters are beautiful, please show us when you find the right frame for them.
Good to hear Ash is on the mend. My cats always seem to deal with their stitches themselves, little buggers!
LOVE! xxxxxxx

You are so creative...I can just imagine how frustrated you must get, stuck at a desk, on the phone, day after day! Lately I feel the same a lot...but it pays the bills and we can be thankful to be employed in these times, as you mention.
Love that picture of the sisters...can't wait to see how you frame it...
Yay for Ash being better :-)

Love your new hats!!!
The purple deer head is awesome!!
The vintage picture is gorgeous! It needs a tatty old carved and gilded frame to really set it off. OR an old frame painted the pink in the girls dresses would be awesome!!

I understand completely what you mean about work! i'm lucky to be able to be somewhat creative as I design stuff (like bathrooms and such-woohoo) but if I didn't have my crafting I'd go NUTZ!!

Love you more than blogging!

Love those Betsey hats - I love Betsey! Thank goodness for TK Maxx (I know you call it TJ Maxx in the US!) where you can get some great deals on her stuff...and she favours hot pink too, which always is a plus! :)

You find time to share so much with us; your style, sense of fun, inspiring art work, stories and opinions. No matter how.mundane work gets, you have to take heart from the pleasure and rainbow injection you give your avid readers. Keep it up. Blogging fills a void and your job gives you the resources to fund the technology and 'stuff' which help complete your world. Be proud of your skills, discipline and knowledge. If someone new tried to do your job, you'd realise how damn good you are.

3 cheers to being a weirdo! And not acting our age.

Sometimes it feels like I'm surrounded by the most boring old woman, then realize.....we're the same age! WTF? It so nice to be able to see people who aren't boring old farts. Lucky me, I get to spend my working hours making all kinds of beautiful things.

I adore the Betsey heart hat. Those 2 sisters look like show people TO Me. Probably actresses. The one wearing the hat is dressed like a boy......wonder who they are?

How cool are those purple antlers!! Maybe you could hang some pink beads around his neck, or hang some sugar doll heads from strings?
I just opened up a package I bought from Amazon. A plague doctor mask. Well, it's going to be used for that but it looks more like a burlesque masquerade mask too. Once I cover it with black vinyl, etc...it will look more dark.
such a cute Betsey hat too! Would look fantastic with a maxi dress.

I believe in YOU!
I have this dreadful attitude where I simply couldn't do what I love for a living-because that would mean I HAVE to do it,and therefore my joy would be diminished!I'm a crazy bitch for that.Really good at cutting off my own nose to spite my face!So I prefer to do a job I don't care a bout in order to have a good lifestyle...but stupidly,I care so much about doing anything I touch well,I get all tangled up anyways.
Meh.
Now,more important things:I love LOVE these hats! They're both so YOU!!! Gorgeous! The deer head is incredible!!! I actually have an actual deer skull (most won't like this) that was lying in a friends garden.I'm gonna glitterfy it and add faux flowers so it's Mexicana, and I can respect the poor thing in my own way.
Love your rainbow!

I want a deer head! :-)

I love that furry hat. I mean, of course the purple one is amazing, but I keep seeing these girls in little bear shaped furry hats with paws/scarves attached and I want one so bad!!! Love this.

Your creativity is an inspiration. I get what you're saying about the humdrum but at least we are able to indulge our passions the rest of the time. Your passion about your blog is magnificent and shines in every post.

I love the paper mache stag's head and the Betsey Johnson hat. I think I began blogging out of a sense that my teaching life (mostly online these days) had become humdrum and I was missing connections with PEOPLE.

I LOVE that deer head! I want ONE! Also how cute is the Betsy Johnstone hat - the cut outs are to die for.

I think we all have times we feel a bit *bleh* about our career path - but you know that's why we have things like blogging and painting doll heads like sugar skulls to make us happy:D

Can someone else please provide feedback and let me know if
