If I had deep pockets filled with cash..

I would buy almost everything Zandra Rhodes creates!  So yesterday my friend from San Diego calls to tell me that she has a friend who's father in law is dating this designer.  ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!  She was at a wedding recently and her friend got to wear one of her dresses and Zandra was there, can you believe it???? I would have died and had to have my picture taken with her.

Both photos are from the darling Ari at Advanced Style.
I'm dying at how these clothes reflect my insides!
I need this pink and orange number in my life.
I wonder how expensive her stuff really is, but I guess if you have to ask you can't afford :(
I'm dizzy over how amazing this suit is.
I hope I look this good in pink at her age.
I had every intention of doing a outfit post tribute to her, which I will eventually but yesterday something unexpected happened.  Ash, my kitty, came home with a HUGE GASH in her back paw that required surgery to stitch up.  I actually saw her tendons.  YUK!  She's ok, thank goodness.  Here is the fun part, she must stay indoors for 2 weeks and wear a cone to keep from ripping those stitches out and causing an infection. Seriously?  I won't even tell you how much it cost, but you know it's a lot when the vet asked if you want a pre approval estimate.  "No!" I said, "Just fix my cat and don't bend me over in the process!"

I have a crazy idea for those Barbie heads and I hope to get cracking on it this weekend.  Stay tuned.  Have a wonderful weekend lovelies!

Poor Ash, the little bugger! She's going to be unbearable with that lampshade around her neck, too!
Zandra Rhodes is/was/always has been fantstic. She's done cheapo (but still amazing) ranges for Topshop and Marks and Spencer and they aren't that much when they pop up on eBay. Those flares in the first photo are the best thing ever.
Dying to see your plans for the dolls' heads & to finally catch up with you!
Love ya!

Poor kitty. I'm glad she's being taken care of.
That lady is fierce! I think that as long as you feel good the rest of the world will see and feel it. She has some awesome designs.

She is so very cool. When I saw her interview on Ari's blog I read it over and over and watched the video a few times. I love her attitude and color! I really hope you get to meet her some day. Such synchronicity already. Why not?

Zandra is fantastic. She and Celia Birtwell are my all time heroines. I have a needlepoint kit designed by Zandra...all shades of pink of course...and I love working it. It cheers me up no end. Hope kitty's feeling better and can't wait to see what you do with the heads.
Have a fab weekend, love.

what the hell do cats get up to? Poor Ash, at least she's ok, but still, they're such a worry, an expensive worry.

I could see you in everyone of Zandra's designs, it's like she's just copied your style anyway...

Oh, no, I am so sorry about your kitty! Our kitten still fancies himself an indoor/outdoor cat and I'm always so afraid he'll get hurt. I hope your kitty heals quickly!

I've never heard of this designer before - but it looks like she is designing clothes just for you!! I love older ladies with bright colourful style like this - I'm determined to be one of these ladies when I'm older.

I am SO sorry to hear about your kitty - it must be very distressing. Sending positive get well soon kitty vibes!

Oh nooo, poor little darling Ash :( I hope she's ok and not too annoyed about wearing a cone, the silly little thing! I know very bills can be expensive but pets are worth more than money in my opinion! Give her a little kissy from me. ~♥~

Oh no, poor kitty I hope she makes a good speedy recover and doesn't go too mental with that bucket on her head. Give her lots of extra cuddles from me.

Zandra was the first designer I ever became aware of, as a child, and I loved her immediately - and bizarrely, so did my uber conservative mama! So I've always had a soft spot for her and I too hoe to one day have one of her incredible pieces in my possession. She is so YOU, Krista!

Have a gorgeous weekend and big hugs to kittyca., Love, Sarah xxx

so sorry to hear about your kitty. One of mine had to wear that collar thing and a funny thing happened. I fed her as usual, but the collar was so big her little mouth couldn't reach to bowl. Had to put the bowl on an upside down coffee cup so she could eat. She got better pretty quick.

Zandra Rhodes is pretty damn amazing

I am so happy that you could mend your broken kitty. How heart-wrenching to see a loved on in pain. And the cone won't be much fun, but at least she'll be fine. WHEW!!!

I LOOOOVE this designer! I would be deliriously happy if more people dressed in her designs. She puts me to shame in my conservatism. Speaking of brilliant creativity, I look forward to your headworks!

I can so imagine you in Zandra Rhodes' clothes Krista, I hope you can track down some not too dear stuff on Ebay. Isn't it weird that she's so close to you? Maybe you'll get to meeting her one day seeing as a connection is already there.
Sorry to hear about your kitty, hope she's getting better and you're not staggering too much from the bill! xx

So sorry to hear about the poor Ash!!
I hope he'll get better soon!
I love this Zandra Rhodes post, I really love everything she does and I would kill to own one of her clothes from her early collections, in the 70's she made such wonderful punk inspired dresses that are timeless!
Her personal style is a great inspiration and I was surprised to think that she could be your granny!!
I hope we'll still rock at her age!!
I love you more than punk grannies!!

If I'm half as cool as she is at that age!!! WOW--I couldn't wear a lot of her stuff in my mundane life but I can drool!!

OH no poor Ash!!! Hope it's fast healing and no one mocks him in the cone of shame!!

Zandra has amazing stuff, but i especially like the dress in motion in that last photo.

And your poor kitty. I know you'll be attentive to her, but i hope the healing process goes well.

Oh no, poor puss cat, any idea as to what caused the gash?

Zandra Rhodes is so cool, a bit like Vivienne Westwood, I hope I'm as funky and eccentric at their age. XX

Poor Ash Baby, hope she is doing OK. Cats HATE those come collar things, I think it's because they feel foolish in them, cats are very image-conscious and hate to be laughed at.
I can so see you rocking something designed by Zandra Rhodes, her wild colours and exuberant designs are right up your alley. Get saving, darling! xxxxxx

Oh god poor dear Ash, please, please don't touch those stitches darling and get better real soon K? Do you KNOW how much I love Zandra? To me she has always kept it real and when saw her in an interview saying she doesn't remove her make up, just adds more on each morning, well ... it was love. I love her and I just KNOW if she met you she would be begging for you to be her muse/partner-in-fab. xoxoxoxoxooxoxox

Just had to pop in to say that we see Zandra around here some times. Last sighting with her son, eating a falafal at Daphnes, wearing the most amazing fringey boots. She lives in Del Mar!
