October Rust

Let's face it the coolest thing about this month is Halloween.  Halloween is that holiday for people who aren't brave enough to dress up everyday.  They give themselves one day to dress up and not be self conscious when people stare.  I wish everyday was Halloween.  I am loving these prints by Bones Nelson.

I love this by Lady Jae
This one too by Sara K Diesel.
What about this carved pumpkin by Snerk.  The roses are made from beets.
This is a must try for anyone with dolls heads lying around.  I will be making this!  This one made by StaRose Creations.
OMG I found another.  Check out this one by LilBittyFish.  Send me all your doll heads!
Here's even one that got to keep her body.
This is pretty classy (for skull art) by StayGoldMedia.
And for the grand skully finale I found this amazing mask by Sugar Shoppe of Horrors.
I think I just found two really killer new crafty projects.  What have you been making lately?

How fab! I love the first two pictures and the pimped-up Barbie (I've never seen her looking so cool!)
The charity shops are full of fancy dress costumes at the moment, great excuse for the less flamboyant amongst us, huh?
I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for old dolls at the car boot sale. Wouldn't they make fantastic earrings?
I've been making a mess today! the bedroom looks like a bomb's gone off, I must sort it out before Jon tells me off!
Love you!

Great Halloween post!! I love Halloween and I'm glad to celebrate it, even if in Italy has arrived only few years ago and is not still very spread!
I love the Bones Nelson's colorful paintings and the carved pumpkin is a masterpiece! The Barbies are great too!!I love the one with the pink hair!My daughter often use a baby doll I painted as a Mexican skull, she thinks he's cute because she's too little to understand, but when she strolls him around everybody freaks out!
I'm doing some jewels now, I find a lot of antique stuff for few dollars and my favourite is a silver piece with an eye ball(I'm always creeping!) I'm making a bracelet out of it!
Love you more than Halloween!

Those Barbie heads are genius! Love the first 2 prints and the Lady Jae.
I'm not so fussed about the whole Trick or Treating thing, but I like getting dressed up for the Hallowe'en party our friends usually throw. It's a great excuse to get my drag queen false eyelashes out again!
You've reminded me I bought some great Hallowe'en costumes in a charity shop earlier in the year, now I just need to remember where I stashed them...
Not making much, apart from dinner... Need to make some inroads into the massive pile of ironing I have accumulated!
Looking forward to seeing your spooky craft projects!
LOVE! xxxxx

I LOVE this! The charity shop near me usually has some poor abandoned battered barbies, I love the idea of the head sugar skulled as used as a keyring. I'm on it!
I love Halloween as it's the same week as my birthday.

Wow! Quite macabre :-)
I've been invited to a Halloween party... first time ever as we don't really 'do' Halloween, so I'm looking for some inspiration for a costume. I'm thinking sexy, vampy vampire with a twist?

Crikey, that's some funky and colourful fabulaousness! I rather like the first 2 especially!
I'll keep my eyes peeled for some dolls heads! Why have we not thought of this before?!
Halloween isn't big over here, but you are quite rigth about it being the only day people feel they have alicence to dress/behave as they really want to but haven't the courage to! I find weddings can be like that, it's treayed as the only day they've ever be fancy...fancy is for EVERYDAY!!!

No makes for me at the moment. I love all this day of the dead stuff though, and wouldn't it be great to be able to carve a pumpkin like that? I love October, and Autumn in general. X

You're so right about October being all about halloween. That's what ANY fun person would say. Are you going to go as a sugar skull lady? I have no idea what to go as yet, I have been agonizing over my halloween outfit since, like, christmas. Hope you're keeping well Krista.

Awesome! A friend of mine is directing 12th Night with Day of the Dead make-up. Alas, it's in NYC, but the photos look sooooo cool! Now I have lots of ideas, thanks!

I love Hallow'ene too Krista, don't dress up so much myself but we decorate the house and make up lots of bags of sweeties for children coming to the door and take the kids out trick or treating with all their cousins so we get to join in the fun. Those dolls heads are fantastic, I love all that day of the dead stuff too, it's so beautiful. xx

As you well said, I dress every day so I am not especially keen on set days and dress rules, but this pics are pure fabulousness, my dear Krista.
Have a lovely weekend.

Halloween is my favorite day of the year! I absolutely love the Barbie heads. I might try this on my own, but my hands aren't that steady. Last year, I was a sugar skull for Halloween. Sometime soon I will be posting photos of Halloween costumes I have done over the years and I will be sure to post the sugar skull.

It's so weird you should say that about people's attitudes to dressing for Halloween. The kids and I were discussing our outfits this morning and they said I should wear my Leg Bones and Black Ribs swim. Then I said that's not a costume, that's like my normal clothes! I would have to wear greige to fool the un-dead into not recognising me - now that's no fun! I hate it when women interpret the day/night as a chance to dress as a hooker - nuthin' against working girls, I actually think it's disrespectful to them. Oh and derivative ... I'm pretending to be Madonna and love bouncing that word around today. Feck off with the gorgeous barbie heads!!! I'm going to the oppy's to search high and low for Barbie skank heads!!! xoxoxoxoox
