Exploring on my own

The last two weekends I have gone off by myself exploring some of Portland's thrift stores.  Sometimes I prefer to shop alone, I can take as long as I want and I do enjoy the quiet time.  Last weekend I scored a hot pink 80's lace dress with matching gloves, it's too cold to sport now but it's all kinds of good.  This weekend I found what could be the most vintage place on earth its called House of Vintage.
They have over 60 venders selling stuff in here.  I spent 2 hours exploring and came away with two dresses.  I was real good.
I wanted this creepy doll, but I am getting better at walking away from stuff that I really don't need.
I thought these were all kinds of adorable but who has room on their countertops, not me!
I really wanted that gal in the center but at $15 I had to leave her behind.
This wall of naughty pictures is brilliant!
 She was my favorite!
This place was bursting with clothes!

 Stuff everywhere!

I tried this dress on and it was crazy with my hair, I put it back but at $12 it was hard too.  Lately I am gravitating towards contrasting colors with my hair.  I did pick up this dress for $7.
When I bought it I knew I would wear it with my space leggings.
 Pretty cute huh.
These new boots are squeaky so I have been using leather lotion to try and break em' in faster.

Other things that made my weekend nice.  Mine is the dark one on the left:)
I also picked up a bottle of KROGSTAD after sampling it at 9 am at Farmers Market :)  I will use it to make Gimlet's for Thanksgiving.  I think it will be tasty with my Thanksgiving menu.  I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

That place looks amazing, the sort of place you can while away hours in. I love those ceramic canisters but would fear for their safety here!
The women in those pictures are always so lovely, I love how wistful they look.
And you look so pretty, I adore that sort of blue with pink, it's one of my absolute favourite colour combinations.

That blue frock looks sensational with the space leggings and DMs. I'd go mad in that shop, I can't believe you left that psychedelic number behind, it's gorgeous! Go back and get it...please!
$49 for a Boy George mirror? WTF! Was the seller on drugs?
Love the porno wall.
Your hair is looking particularly lovely, must be the vitamins in the ale.
Love you!

I dream about shopping in a place like that almost everynight, I already spotted two or three things that I'd like to buy!The Hawaiian girl bag is my favourite and so the purple hat and the Victorian boots, 49 dollars for a Boy George picture? I'm sure that he sells himself for less, but it's very pretty!I love the 60's minidress you bought, blue is a colour that really suits you well especially if you combine it with the galaxy leggings and with your hair!
Have a wonderful week
I love you more than dolls!! xxxxxx

That place is an alladins cave of treasure, how good you were for restraining your spending.

Your blue dress was a good bye as it looks amazing on you especially with those space leggings and DMs. It really makes the pink hair pop x

That place looks a total treasure trove Krista, your pictures are gorgeous. I don't normally like creepy dolls but that one is beautiful, I would have been very tempted to buy her and I'd be shifting stuff about to fit those mushroom storage pots in too, and that little ceramic lady. I love the wall of naughty photos. The blue dress contrasts beautifully with your hair and goes really well with your leggings. xx

60 vendors and only two dresses - you were marvellously restrained!

What a wonderful emporium. I too love the Hawaiian girl bag, and you must go back for the orange dress - it is fabulous!

I do love the blue dress with your pink DMs, and those (Black Milk?) leggings. Glad you had a good weekend, and look forward to hearing more about your Thanksgiving feast. xxx

Sounds like my kinda weekend Krista! Well done for putting things back, and being restrained - I'm.proud of you. The jewel colours just look divine with your hair, and I love that you put lotion on your boots - you sure look after your footwear girl!

On my bucket list, is a visit to see you and eat with you, drink your cocktails, and listen to your brilliantly told stories. I have to do it!

You, Curtise and Vix sure delved into vintage heaven on the weekend, I'm so glad you shared it with us.

I do love the blue dress you bought though, it does look stunning with your leggings. It's not a colour I think I have seen you wear before, and I really like it!
Love all the nekkid ladies, and the cute Hawaiian girl, and that green bag. So much to enjoy!

Hi,Lurker here. That place is amazing,it reminds me of an indoor flea market that used to be in my city. It was in the basement of a strip mall and just stuffed with goodies. Then they tore the place down and built a Walgreens.
I just want to say I love your style and your clothes. You rock.

Trees said...

Wow - that market is amazing! You did very well to limit your purchases to two dresses, I don't know if I would be so good with my money. The dress you bought is perfect with your space leggings:D

Hollie said...

:sigh: Shops like that don't exist in our town. We have tons of indoor flea markets and resale shops but all you're going to get are puffy sleeved 80s prom dresses, cookie jars shaped like chickens and handmade Texas Longhorn or Arkansas Razorback merch.

Wow that place looks like heaven !!! I could spent much time there exploring all those pretty stuff and trying dresses... I also like to shop alone :) The dress you bought is fab and the galaxy print pants match perfect ! XX

Man, you went to heaven! That's the kind of place that strikes fear into The Doctor's heart. He knows I'll be in there for hours. Lucky for him, we don't have any place like that round here.

That doll would have come home with me. In the next photo, I love the silver legs hanging up. And you look pretty all blue and pink.

Oh my gosh my friend Soo would kill for those storage jars! She collects mushrooms and would probably build a whole new worktop to store them on!

I agree with Vix you should go back and get that mad gorgeous dress.

I think if we'd gone together we'd've been fighting over the same things. I love everything you spotted. The creepy doll, the glamorous lady, the wall of naughty, the shroom jars, I want them all. I also want to give you a great bit squeeze for being so damn cute and such a gorgeous lady. The dress is a perfect fit, it makes you look super curvilicious xxxxx
