Happy Halloween everyone! Growing up this has always been my favorite holiday. I hate to admit it but I was that kid who was a princess like 10 years in a row. I remember the year my Mom suggested I be a hobo, what? That just sounded ugly to me. As an adult, I used to spend months working on my costume, which was always something sexy! This year will be quite chill, handing out candy and then off to see a bloody horror film:)
My favorite all time horror flick was Evil Dead, do any of you remember Ash?
How about LEGEND? Tim Curry played the best Devil to date. Is it strange that I had a crush on him in this role? "The dreams of youth are the regrets of maturity."
Who could forget Hellraiser.
Cutest halloween couple ever!
Who doesn't think dolls are creepy? I do and the creepier the better.
This is what you look like after one of their shows! I ruined a pair of shoes but totally worth it!
I hope everyone has a fierce celebration! I have been eating candy all week long and will have to hit the Zumba extra hard next week. I will leave you with the best Halloween performance of Slayer's Reign in Blood. This was when my love of Metal began.
It will be difficult to get much done at work today as most of my clients and venders are in Sandy's path. This storm is turning out to be pretty fierce. Let's all say a pray for anyone in her way. Here on the West coast all we worry about are earth quakes and fires, we don't like to see our catastrophes coming.
I finished reading Wild this weekend. I enjoyed a few parts very much but the rest just seemed like the same story we all share at some point in our life, a journey to reclaim one's self.
"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" ~Mary Oliver
Peetee is sleeping away most of his.
Little Ash had her stitches removed yesterday and is currently outside getting into more trouble:)
I also hung up my newest pet :) I named her Grapes, same name I gave my Mom's purple car when I was a kid.
Things to keep me warm.
My friends kids help to keep me young.
and keep me laughing...
I hope you guys know none of these kids are drinking but it was fun pretending!
BOO! This kid cracks me up! No princess crap here she's going as a skeleton!
A picture from last week as I didn't take any outfits shots since the rain never stopped and I had my nose in a book all weekend. I have been trying to digitally disconnect at bit more these days, I am spending far too much time in front of some sort of computer screen. It's making me a bit batty~ for reals!!! Can't wait to see what you've been up too!
I finally got my act together so I could pay homage to a pretty flower among us Sarah from Misfits Vintage. Have you heard? She has been wearing floral prints all week long. Can you imagine the happiness she is spreading with her petals of color! This one's for you baby.
I know a lot of people hate UGGS, I hate the price tag, but last year I picked these up on ebay. I don't think anyone liked the color :)
They kept my feet toasty warm last night running around downtown in the cold.
I have so enjoyed reading some of your Zandra stories! The one aboutLucy'sMom buying a t-shirt from her and wearing it to death and Melanie hacking the sleeves of a Zandra dress her aunt bought her to make it comfortable. I love it when you guys share :)
On an unrelated weird note. Do you guys ever get into a bidding war on ebay over an item and you wonder who in God's name would want this? I usually pause and realize why it's someone just like me :) Remember, even if you are 1 in a million there are 7000 others just like you in the world. I don't know about you but I find comfort in that. Just don't bid on stuff I want!
For all of you celebrating Halloween, have fun! I plan on equal parts of little kid fun and grown up fun! Trick or Treat!
Continuing on with my Zandra Rhodes obsession I bet you can imagine how stoked I was to find this book used for under $20 at my local book store.
I had no idea she was such an amazing artist. She was HUGE on creating her own textiles and pairing those prints with fabric she thought would show them off best. Most of the prints were all kinds of crazy good. This was one called shells, the second picture shows it actually on the garments.
I would marry Chris again in this dress!
This skirt is the epitome of feminine beauty!
I love how all of her stuff has an exotic foreign feel.
Here is a lil of my color she would appreciate.
I feel alive in bright colors and patterns. The necklace I'm wearing was made just for me by Edie Pop's Mom!! BTW did you know Edie is now selling her prints!!! Find them here! I can't wait to get mine up on the wall! Only two more days until freedom! What will you do with yours?
