A commitment to ART:)

For me a rich life is equal parts hard work in the office, plenty of play time and exercise for both my mind and body, quality time spent with friends and family and a creative outlet to express my inner most whatever.  I really want to try and create more this year and I want to support artists I love by buying their art.  I recently bought a print from one of my most favorite artists Ilaria Novelli, and she included this original for me.  It brings tears to my eyes to see it hanging on my wall.
Here is the print I bought from her.   I picked out the same purple frame for both.
I think this is my favorite room in the house now.  Ilaria you always have a place to stay here, you and the girls:)
I even think she has inspired me to paint a bit.  I have been working on these blank toys and having a lot of fun with them.
Here are a few that I have finished.
 My work space.

I also finished up another sugar skull in a shadow box.
So far this year is off to a killer start.  I am happy, healthy, motivated and grateful.  Have a great weekend everyone!

I love the new artwork you've acquired. Your little painted toys are ridiculously cute!!! You obviously are artistically talented, too. My stuff never comes out looking so adorable. I have also made a commitment to supporting artists. Art makes me feel more alive :)

Wow, I love your spare bedroom (I'm assuming that's what it is?) Ilaria's work is fantastic. I love the extra print she sent you. Your styles are so alike so they suit your home perfectly. I also love your colourful work area xx

I love the art you purchased - and how cool that the artist included an original for you!! Its good to be inspired by others, I really like the figurines you have painted. Also, I must tell you that I LOVE the leggings with the colour swatches in your earlier post - never seen anything like it here in NZ.

You are one of THE most amazing beings I have ever met!
I suspect Ila is in the same mould! She's so bloody talented, and so are you! You're both inspiring me;I used to do a bit of arty crafty stuff, but for some reason haven't for years...I reckon I might just have to get my arse back into it.
Love you!XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Your painted toys are ADORABLE!!

I am eying the owl pillow so i can make one--CUTE!!

The sugar skull picture is way-cool!! what an awesome thing to do with barbie heads. I 'm keeping my eyes peeled for some for you!

I LOL'd when I saw your workspace!!
We are kindred spirits as i have my stuff organized in bins and such. I readily admit to being a tad OCD and I function better if things are :tidy: (I have my markers and colored pencils organized by color!!!)

I'm with you on NEEDING to be able to create regularly. My goal this year is to do more!!! creating!!!!

I am ever so jealous of your work space! I really have such limited space. I love the little toys you painted, they are really awesome. Rich did a couple a few years back when we were living overseas but we haven't found anything similar here so far. I also LOVE the prints you bought - it feels so good to support local artists! :D

Such gorgeous pictures from darling Ila, she is so talented, and so kind as well.
And you have talent and creativity in abundance, Krista, so get your art groove on and show us what you can do! Love seeing your little painted figures, your sugar skull, and your art/craft space.
I don't want to say it like a resolution, but I really would like to try and make something to wear this year. Vix has been encouraging me to try, so I'm gonna! I usually think of myself as completely uncreative (is that even a word?) but I think I should give sewing a try.
I love that you are so positive and busy and upbeat - can I borrow some of that?! xxxxxx

I love your that bedroom so much, I could just lie there and enjoy all the eye candy! And, those little pillow creatures give me such a smile want to just squeeze them!

And, your toys are truly artistic! You have an amazing since of colors and how to put them together...really an art Sista! People take classes just to try to get as good as you are naturally!!;)

I'd love to see what you'd come up with if you had some shapes 3d printed. This is a cool and very creative artistic expression...they really makes me happy with their supreme cuteness!!!:)

Creative expression feeds our soul and the world would be a better place with more art. I love your creations and your colour and your energy. Your sugar skull is creepy compelling. Excellent!!

I recently attended an exhibit of toys created by indie artists in the city where I live, and most made from the figures like the ones like you painted. It was fun to see what they came up with, starting with the same blank figure. I love the little turquoise and red puppy.
