Sweet 16

I don't want to be all braggy brag but what a beautiful sun shiny shine of a weekend did we have in Portland!  I finished my book Caramba (which was killer) pulled countless weeds, went to a Sweet 16 for a doggie, and in general lazed about in a sunshine induced stupor.  My life is so hard I tell you.
The adorable rainbow ice cream cake was for us, and it was so tasty.
The meat cake was for the dogs.  My friend Cathy's dog Sunny turned 16.
 Here is the Birthday girl!
 and her folks.

 and her friends...
 Everyone was dressed their best.
This greyhound had a head as big as Peetee's whole body.
Chris chowing down and all smiles!
My latest vintage dress score at the Goodwill for $6, sorry it's the only shot I have of it.

My knees even got some sunshine.

This book is as colorful as me!
 I'm ready for the week.
 Is it Friday yet?

Happy Birthday to Sunny! What a brilliant idea, a doggie birthday party. The birthday girl is a beauty and Peetee looks exceptionally handsome, too.
I can't believe you've found another gorgeous frock and you've out getting a tan, it's so unfair! It's been snowing ....again!
You look so gorgeous in that last picture, I just want to give you a hug!
Love you! xxxxxxx

Really? People throw birthday parties for their dogs? I can barely manage parties for my kids, I'm not including the cats as well!
It looks like a gorgeous gathering of canines and humans, did Peetee enjoy himself? I hope he didn't get overexcited and misbehave or end up in tears... Hmm, think I am thinking of kids' parties now!
Look at the gorgeous flowery print on your dress, it makes me happy just to look at it! That last photo is pure Krista magic! Roll on Friday... xxxxxxx

I cannot begrudge anyone who has the joy of the sunshine just now. I can't wait for our weather to get springy or, indeed, summery! Though it seems that may be wishful thinking...x

Awe, a dog wearing a tie and a smile. A rainbow cake and a rainbow purse, be still my heart.

Meat cake? There should be a song or a band with that name! But it's your ice cream cake that has me running to the freezer for disappointment right now.
Total score on the dress, but that handbag really REALLY got my attention. Glad you had a great weekend. I love you to be all braggy brag. Last photo - awesome, Rock Star.

What great fun! It's awesome that the doggie has made it to 16. Our rottweiler/dalmation mix Xena made it to 14 before passing on. She was a bad-ass dog.

Ugh. I gotta start pulling weeds too. I just wish we had some sunshine to do it in.

Just to say that I had to delete my blog last night I couldn't cope anymore with the nasty message I was getting from my husbands ex. But I will still be popping into blogland and catching up with everyone. Take lots of care and have a great week, dee xx

What a wonderful idea - I think every doggy that lives to be 16 should get a sweet 16 party! The cakes are awesome, as are the party hats. Your dress looks adorable and the candy-striped handbag is very cute.

Aah I love this post Krista, all the doggies look so happy to be at the party too, as Helga said, a cat birthday party just wouldn't be the same as all the guests would just look at it in disdain then stalk off with their tails in the air. I was lusting after a bit of that rainbow cake anyway and when I saw it was an ice cream rainbow cake I wanted some even more. You have the best weekends ever! I love the sun bleached pic of you and Peetee. xx
