Wunderkammer

At 42 I still love having "firsts".  Last night I was lucky enough to have my first go at Korean food and I have to say I dug it.  I really try and keep and open mind and mouth when it comes to food.  I can't stand picky eaters.  Life's too short shut up and try it!  I also wanted to share a few things with you that have me smiling! I picked these up at the Gem Faire last weekend, a buck a strand!
Some of what we ate last night.
 This seafood pancake was tasty!
 Seafood soup.
Our wonderfully sweet friends who treated Chris and I to this feast!
Now how about a lil make-up. My friend Cristi spoiled me with this really cool case of eye shadows.
I never wear colored eye shadow but I am going to give it a go.
I mean I should be wearing colored eye shadow!
I finally found a 1960's Goldette Squash Blossom necklace that I could afford, $20!  I know deal of the year right there.
I tried farm fresh eggs for the first time, they were rich and super yellow.

Peetee and Ash do you think you could do a little yard work!
I almost died when my new Mark Ryden books arrived yesterday.
I will never tire of his art or his view of the world.
I hope everyone enjoys the weekend!  Outside is wet dark and rainy and I could care less because its FRIDAY!

I almost died when I read your post!! The coloured beads and the eyeshadows are a feast for my eyes!! I ate Korean food when I was an art school student because one of my best friends was from Seoul, even if I wasn't a fussy eater then I remember that I couldn't get some tastes and consistencies, but I think that homemade food is always different, it's like eating in an Italian restaurant in Japan and then come to dinner at my place. Anyway the pancake looks delicious and so different from the jellyfish-like meals my lovely friend used to cook! You know my love for Mark Ryden and I'm so happy to share it with you, I think I'm going to order soon one of his books! I really want Blood! Your outfit today is more wonderful than ever, it seems to come out from the Romance was Born collection and you look so gorgeous in your beautiful hat!!
I love you more than raw meat gowns!!

Colored eye shadow-- I am desperate for yellow!

You look fabulous! I love trying new food be it at a restaurant or at home.

Last time my mom came over she brought us fresh eggs from her chickens and man they are so much better than store bought. They taste and look so much better.

I love kimchi so much that I once got several cans as christmasgifts from my husband (live in a small village where you can't buy kimchi). Well - enough about food - you in that dress and in those colors! I love it!

WOAH, that necklace is indeed the score of the year! It's a stunner!
G and I are newish to korean too, and it was a pleasant surprise! We love how spicey it is, of course, as well as the amazing flavours! I'm far more adventurous with food than I've ever been, I must say! I'll even give things I've never liked a second go.
I don't think I'll be having that Bloody Mary this week, as I have a nasty head cold. Next week!
I can't believe you scored all those amazing beads for a buck a strand! I sense some spectacular new jewellery in the future...!
O, I can see you having a blast with all those amazing eyeshadows! I mostly wear black, ut every now and then it's a hoot to go wild with it-just look at Melanie!!!
You are a such a FOX!
Love you! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Korean food is my most favourite EVER!! I'm glad you enjoyed it - if you have a chance try dolsot bimibap next time, its the best. I always eat if if I'm feeling a bit down. SO many lovely eyeshadows and aren't farm fresh eggs the best? I grew up on a farm and always feel like store bought eggs are a bit tasteless compared to the ones my mums chickens lay.

YES to the eyeshadow! That food looks absolutely amazing. We've nothing like that around here. It's all Italian, Mexican, Chinese and catfish restaurants around here. :(

Your posts have made me feel REALLY hungry lately!!! I love korean too. Sometimes the church jumble sales sell korean food if they've got a korean congregation (which some have).. Pancakes are DELICIOUS!

That eye shadow looks exciting! I never wear it.

I have to say that the food looks good! I love how that tofu dish was served, but it looks super spicy. The seafood pancake looks really yummy and I love all those little dishes of sides...things just seem to taste better when served in little cute dishes.
