Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess.

My Mom and Step Dad Jim are up from California for a visit this weekend.  I have been busy cleaning my house, planning a delicious dinner of comfort food, and wondering about what I want to share with them.  Portland is just so awesome!

I won't have any problem with what to wear I seem to have so many dresses I haven't worn.  This dress  is from H&M by way of Goodwill and was $3.  The coat is really a robe, I think anyway.
 I love these colors.
Is it too much?  BAH!  What's that?

I did make dinner reservations at a Peruvian restaurant called Andina for my folks and Chris's.  You know me I like my fancy food. I can't wait to eat there!

Here is a vintage dress I found for $15 at Red Light Clothing Exchange.
This little caplet was $5 and I found it in purple and gave it to a friend.  I hope she's wearing it, I love mine:)
 Wanna see a little more?
The print is weird just like me and I dig it with my hair big time.

So if your parents were coming for a visit, come on let's play a little here, what is one thing you would want to share with them?

You look amazing in both dresses!! They are definitely Krista Rainbow colored awesomeness. But of course Peetee makes anything look better with his adorableness.

funny you should ask aboutn parents visiting. today would've been my Dad's 78th birthday. What I wouldn't give to have him visit again. we would go out and look at the garden and then drive through the battlefield and I'd show him where his great-great grandfather fought during the battle.

If my Dad was still alive, I'd make him his favorite dinner: pork chops, mashed potatoes and green beans.

Every time see the TV ad for the Mini Cooper, I think of you!

I just found Red Light this weekend. I just turned around and walked out. I was with my husband and had a second of compassion for the guy. If I had stayed he would have been stuck there for hours. Besides I live less than 2 miles away. I can't wait to go back!! where would I take my parents? Ahhhhhh unfair question right now because I'm so in love with Portland I don't know where I would start!

Hell YES we want to see more!!!
Ah, moderation is waaaaay over rated!
Whomever the hell started bandying that word around needs a kick up the arse!!!
I love everything and I love it LOUD!
You are, in fact, the best advertisement for the importance of going way too far!!!
We love Portland too, and talk about our time there quite often! GAH! Want to be there RIGHT NOW!

O, wasn't Red Light where I got those 2 awesome frocks?!

You are brilliant with color combinations and mixtures. Just brilliant.
I'd simply tell them of their virtues and bask in the glory of their company (mine are in another sphere).
Oh, and you rawk, little lady.

Ohhh, I love the bright colors. Cheers me up! I love your heading too. One of my favorite sayings: Moderation in all things, including moderation.

Too much colour? Pah! You're a work of art! I love the insane print on that dress and the dressing gown as a coat (far too fabulous to keep in the bedroom!). I bet the new recipient of your cape is thrilled to bits, you generous creature!
Have a wonderful time with the parents. Hope there's no guinea pig on the menu!
Love ya! xxxxxx

The mad print is wonderful! Such a great little dress, and you're right, it looks amazing with your hair. The capelet matches your hair too!
Love all the florals in the first outfit - too much? Never!
Have a great weekend with your mum and step-dad. It's so good to love where you live, and want to show it off to visitors. Where would I take my mum? Well, she really enjoyed the flea market when we last went there, so I think we would have a leisurely amble around, chat to all the stall holders, and go for a nice lunch. Yep, that sounds perfect! xxxxx

the cape and dress is beautiful, you are absolutely gorgeous, all of the outfits are fab, and a capelet! too cute - 'too much?', I have found excess far more exciting, it maybe the little things (3 brooches instead of 1)but I feel alive! have a wonderful family time! my parents are currently away, partying excessively, I'm glad they do! x x

Oh that little capelet, it's just so cute! You have such a distinctive style of your own. It cheers me up just looking at your with all that colour and pattern. Why would you tone it down? There's no need. I love the crazy dress, it looks magnificent on you.

Exciting to have your folks over, and lovely to go out somewhere nice to eat. Peruvian? Let us know what it's like? I'm imagining quinoa and exotic fruits.

I would have loved to show my dad my house as he helped me to get on the property ladder. My mum comes to visit which I never thought could happen and I love to be able to cook for her or make her a cup of tea and have her hang out here. xxxxx

Love the print on that last dress. Red Light! I have to make a special trip to the Broadway one once or twice a year--I go NUTS in there! :) Can't wait to go next month, pre-Halloween.

Cape cape cape!!!!!! I love it! I also adore those two dresses and your "coat". I would never have guessed robe. :-)

Portland sounds awesome. I've always wanted to live there (just for a little while) because it looks like it has the best food.

That little capelet would look so awesome with my sherbet coloured docs, just in case you ever get tired of it :) I love that vintage dress, very "YOU"!

The few times my Mother has visited me, I have taken her to a couple of stores owned by friends, but she and I have very different taste, so I usually go with whatever she wants to do.

Alright - LOVE that vintage frock! beautiful pattern (I like weird things!). My parents don't visit us in the city, they think its scary or something I guess. But when Rich's parents come we tend to eat out a lot as they are foodies - take them to local food markets and such. Also usually take them to somewhere like Te Papa (Museum of NZ)& for a walk along the waterfront (if its fine weather).

I like the capelet outfit, it borders on demure, think Talbots on acid.

Love to PeeTee.

So sorry to have missed you at the Craft Faire. I confused the date with Art at the Pearl.

I'll try for another siting!
