Start wherever you are!

How wonderful it is to finally feel refreshed and ready to get back to work!  I've had plenty of time to catch up with friends, eat way too much, drink just enough and even spend some quality time on that new sofa.  Here is a bit of what I've been up too.  The New Year was celebrated at the Westin in downtown Portland.  They had a beautiful bar and the drinks were delicious!
Cristi rocked her litas like a real diva!
I wore my new hot pink wool motorcycle jacket.
We had a chance to have lunch with BettyLou and her Mom Crystal.  These two are sweet as pie.
Being around her just lightens your spirit.
Her imagination inspiring.
We had on our matching Kiss Me Kitty leggings.
 and made fish faces:)
and compared fins. I hope we can do it again soon.  I also had a blast going to the arcade with Tammy and Fiona.
Fiona won a lot of tickets so it was a good day.
I went bowling with this beautiful family to celebrate their Dad's bday.
I sucked real bad but had a blast!
Afterwards we found a candy shop.

No I did not buy this.  Even I have my bacon limits!
 Nor did I get this.
I ended my vacation with a wonderful brunch out with these guys.  My Dad and I have been going to the Crescent Cafe for years and it was so good to get back after being away for so long.
My Dad is doing much better these days and we hope when he goes back next month for a follow up PET scan that the cancer has stayed away.
You just enjoy the time you have.
I hope the year is off to a good start for all of you.  It will be nice to get back into a rhythm but I do not want to fall into routine.  Can you dig it?

Gah you two are so adorable and so is little BettyLou (are those natural curls?). Glad you had such a good vacation! I swear I sit here and take notes on places to go after reading your blog! You know all the cool places.:) And hand over the pink wool motorcycle jacket and no one gets hurt.

Looks like an awesome staycation to me. That ginormous tootsie pop is outta control! I bet Fiona would go gaga over it.
I'm so glad your dad is doing better. Sending good thoughts for the next check up.
I'm holding you to the bowling league thing. I'm still looking for a 4th :)

Can I dig it? Yes I can. Every day.
Love all your photos and your inspiration for the New Year. What little girl wouldn't faint to hang out with you and Cristi? Well, and vice versa. You've also captured some great shots with your dad. I hope for the best for his scan results.
And you guys dressed the way it should be done to ring in the new year. Hugs! Hope it's a good one.

That's a good way to put it, Krista - getting back into a rhythm but not falling into a routine. Yes, I like that.
It's great to hear positive news about your dad's health, and to see the two of you together.
You had so much fun with all the gals! Lovely to see Bettylou again, rocking her mermaid KMKs, although you do the best fish face, love! I just showed Nina the pics of the sweetie shop, her eyes are like saucers! But bacon flavoured sweets? No, that's just wrong!
Ahhh, I do love to see you and Cristi all glammed up and fabulous. Cristi looks like a supermodel Russian princess, and you are a badass Pink Lady!
Happy new year to you and Chris, wishing you much joy in 2014. xxxxxxx

Its nice to hear that you are feeling all refreshed and ready to start the new year and back to work.

Oh, I do love the photos of the two and a half mermaids - the three of you are adorable! It's so wonderful that you have stayed in touch with Bettylou and her Mom, and I'm sure you have made an indelible impression on that little girl.

I like the "rhythm, but not routine" idea. I'm working on that myself but need to get rid of this cold bug first. Glad you were able to spend some quality time with your Dad.

Only in America will you find bacon frosting and butter suckers!! Bless!
I reckon the bacon scented moustache is a real winner!
O, just look at that darling Betty Lou! You shine when you've been hanging with that cutie! Matching fins all round, huzzah!
How very splendid to have quality time with your Dad! I will have everything crossed that that scan comes back clear as crystal!
Bowling!! I ahven't been for years. G has special style....and I'm pretty suck, but it is great fun. I suppose we still have a bowling alley......dunno if it survived the quakes, will have to see!
Loving YOU and your gorgeous curls, new pink wool motorcycle jacket AND your gloriousness!!!

What a sweet post this is, from the matching mermaid leggings to you and Crista out on the town and you with your dad looking all happy. Fingers crossed, toes crossed, eyes crossed it all goes well. You're right, I'm ready to get back into my natural rhythm, my sleeping and eating is all over the place. I think I'm like a baby, needing my little routines!!
Bacon scented moustaches? Wow, that sounds like a niche product. I wonder who the target market is...?
You're so cute at the bowling alley. Like so many things, I bring more enthusiasm than skill to that party. :) xxxxxxxx

Happy 2014! So many lovely photos with lovely people here. That candy shop looks amazing, the wee shopping carts the girls have are so cute. I'm glad you got to spend time with your Dad and that he's doing well. I wish you good things for the upcoming year xoxo

That oversized lolly is hilarious!

Personally I want that bacon scented moustache LOL. Nice to have your facial hair smell like bacon. Only the smell of scotch would be more manly than that.

Looks like you had so much fun. I'm sure you made everyone smile everywhere you went.

Happy New Year!

everything looks so awesome! You three with your matching mermaid legs, bowling, and your handsome dad! So wonderful... well maybe not the butter suckers...

Dear Krista,
those mermaid Kiss Me Kitty leggings are sublime, perfect legwear for any age as is proven in these awesome pics. You must have the most amazing leggings collection by now.
I'm one of those poor peeps that has both a sweet and a savoury tooth but I think even I would find it hard to stomach a bacon flavoured lollipop....sounds pretty vile.
I'm glad to hear that your dad is doing better, sending some well-being vibes his way.
All the best to you and all your loved ones for 2014, here's to a year of health and happiness.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment over on mine, it made me feel very welcomed back after my break in blogging.
Loads of love,
