Share your stories with the world

Last week was so dam hot!  Don't get me wrong I love summer but its hard to get excited about hanging out in 90 degree heat.
I have been reaching for anything cotton in my closet.
Cristi and I worked the Mississippi Street Fair on Saturday and it was 96 degrees, the week kept getting hotter.  It was a blast!  So much so that these are the only two pictures I took!
There were people as far as the eye could see.  We had our best sales to date and met some of the coolest people that call Portland home.  I LOVE PORTLAND PEEPS!

New metallic beauties!

My flower bed has exploded!
Here are some pictures of what I just planted.

This is the back of our house.

 I love my backyard.

I feel asleep under the light of the SUPER MOON.
and had the first dream I can recall about my Dad since he's died.  All I can remember is that he was so thirsty and I felt bad because I think I forgot to give him water.
I still haven't spread his ashes.  My sister will come up so we can do it together. I'm  really looking forward to releasing him back to the earth, I want to do this soon.
I just accepted an offer on his house.  If all goes well it will be nice it sold this fast.
I am also a tiny bit sad which is to be expected.

I've been doing a lot of soul searching lately, some good, some bad but all of it necessary to grow.

p.s. I'm no basic bitch:)

That's right, you're no basic bitch ;) I'm glad the street fair was a success even tho it was hot. I'm loving the tunic and I want more.
Your backyard is looking great. Hope to see you soon

I Love Portland too, been there 3 or 4 times, but the next time I'll go there - I'll go there to meet YOU. :)

The metallic sandals are very cool, and your colorful dresses, and your flower bed are fantastic! I am so happy for you girls that you had your best show (wahoo!) - I remember that excitement, mine also happened on the hot weekend (it seems like in previous life now :) - I don't do sales for years).

I am glad that your Dad visited you, my dear. Don't read guilt in his visit. I am sure all he ever wants for you is love and joy.

Stay cool (and the Supermoon was amazing, we saw it on the way back home from Olympia).

Hurray for KMK sales, for your gorgeous garden, for colour and shine and growth and cute frocks, and a Super Moon!
It's not surprising that you dreamed about your dad, especially if you are thinking about where to scatter his ashes, and wanting to do that soon. He's on your mind (of course he is) and naturally you're sad. Maybe the dream is a simple recognition of the fact that you wanted him to stay alive, or at least be free from pain, but that was impossible.
I love that last photo, and I hope your soul searching has a positive outcome. I feel sure it will, because you are a woman with plenty of soul and a big big heart. Love you! xxxx

Those may be the only two pics you took but they say everything. What an awesome day! I'm glad you could still have a blast when it was so frigging hot. I'm a wilted mess up here. You and Cristi are blooming. And your garden is stupendous.
I'm glad you had a dream visit. They will get better and better as you both adjust to your new realities. PS Can you send me your email address? I can't find it!

That's so good about the sales, sunshine makes 'em spend! The two photos you took just goo to show what a fab time you had. I thought of the pair of you all day and wished I could be there to help.
Your new sandals are very Bollywood and I love them. Hello Kitty should stay. Love your hair in the big ass bun with the sexy ladderback vest showing off your tats.
The garden looks amazing, its just missing me socking up those rays in my deckchair.
Great news about your Dad's house, funny after we were chatting about the state of that car only a few days ago - the agent obviously spends so much time working damned hard that they haven't the time to go out and buy a new one.
Scattering your Dad's ashes will be a good farewell although the weird dreams won't ever stop.
Love you! xxxxxxxxxx

Hi Krista
Have thought of you lots lately and have been meaning to ask how you are doing. Good news about your Dad's house but understandably it will be sad to see it go. Vix is right about the dreams, in mine my Mum is always young...what is that all about???
Loving your pink tunic and your garden is looking fab, those nasties are great but the bloody blackfly gets to them every time. Take care Krista. xxx

A dream visit of a lost one. They are wonderful and heartbreaking at the same time.

I am sure the scattering of the ashes will be emotional.

That hello kitty dress is such a classic! I should have it included in the 5 items every woman needs in their closet! Then we could all say we ain't no basic bitches.

Woah, it's hot! 96 degrees! I am pathetic at the late 80's, still you and lovely Cristi looked fabulous in the wilting heat, I'm chuffed KMK did so well! hurrah's all round! your blooming garden is beautiful, the dreams of loved ones touch our heart and soul and can shake us in our waking hours but I believe they visit for good reasons, you have no reasons to feel guilt - enjoy the sun, super moon and beautiful garden and I hope you find all the answers you need x x x

what I love about summer: long ass days, it doesn't get dark here until after 8:30pm, flowers and tomatoes. What I don't like: it too damn humid here!

Your yard is awesome!

AHHHHhh I love you! Damn right you're not a basic bitch! You're a bad ass and I like to play one on TV not half as cool as you! And girl, the black shirt....eep. Is it bad if I say you look hot? If so I take it back. Your yard reflects you, so colorful! So jealous of anyone with a green thumb. You know I got it in my head that your tall but your actually petite? Yeah?

omg so many amazing things in this post! Your house, garden, those sandals, that ripped shirt, the mirror, super moon... You and Cristi killin' it at the market!! Your dad's house selling will be a good thing. Spreading his ashes will beautiful/loving/sad/earthly, makes me think of Walt Whitman's poetry <3

You have a wonderful backyard and gorgeous flowers! I hope you get to spread your Dad's ashes soon - I would think that may bring a bit of closure, the same with selling the house. It will be closure, tinged with sadness, but you know he is in your heart forever.

Those sandals are shine-a-riffic!

Right now it is so cold in Australia. I have 3 layers on and the heater on full. These photos are so inspiring and I love your Hello Kitty dress. SO adorable.

Come visit me in Texas. We're having a "cold front" right now. It is kinda odd and scientifically baffling really. It got DOWN to 82 yesterday. But we've been looking at 100-103 these days so that was PERFECT weather. You're looking preciously frigging adorable as usual!

Wow, that's hot alright, it's impressive that you were able to get out and do anything! Fantastic for KMK, you two just make it look so much fun. Your garden is beautiful and having trees will only make it more so. Weird dreams, yes, a lot of my lost people come back and visit me that way. When my cat comes back, I worry about not having fed him, so very similar to your dream. I'm glad things are moving and it will be great to spread his ashes with your sis. Xxxx

You gals always look so cute, even in the heat! I love your hello kitty dress with the gingham shoes and that blue ring is too stunning! Wow your garden is an explosion of rainbow color, how appropriate and great.
