Don't tell me the sky is the limit, there are footprints on the MOON!

Here in Portland, last nights harvest moon was captivating.  I found myself outside late tending to  my garden lost in my thoughts.  I feel a change coming on, I'm hungry for it.  Maybe fall has already landed in my lap and with that new weight I'm eager to find out what it is I must shed.  My hands tended to many things this weekend and I found so much joy in everything.  This took me no time at all to create but I love it to no end.  Curtise I think these pink cuffs might be from you :)
I wonder what my neighbors must think when I bring my things outside to photograph.
I also finished part of the arbor.
I first drew and cut out my own stencils and then painted about 5 layers of  color.  I think it turned out pretty cute!   The top outside will be tricky because I will have to do it from a ladder that I will have to set upon the rocks, not ideal so I'm just enjoying this very much for now.
The best part was painting it.  I took Peetee out with me early in the morning and curled him up in a blanket and tucked him on the bench.  I took my time and enjoyed every minute of it.
Remember two weeks ago it looked like this, not bad eh:)
I was also spoiled by Holly who sent me this bright happy package last week.  Hey did you hear, she finally had that baby girl.  Congrats honey!
Look at this bounty~ Hmong patches, some of her photographs, handmade hair clips, an owl bag and some cool old patches!

I got plans for these already.
I think I may have got my last wear of the season in this new favorite dress.

Cristi also managed to wear a beautiful summer dress when we went out for beers the other day.  We are working at the Belmont Street fair this Saturday and are both looking forward to that.
Of course we had time for thrifting.  We each found a lil treasure.
 Or two.
I found this for $5 and I'm hoping Jon can turn it into a boom box one day!
Another fringe scarf and what has to be my last bag purchase ever!  Ok I know that is going to be difficult but I'm at maximum capacity!
After spending an afternoon in my spare bedroom, AKA dressing room, I packed up another 3 bags to donate.  It's time to get brutal, but I had to have this scarf:)
and this dress.  I can't resist color, I'm drawn to it like I need it to live.
What is your weakness?  Is it thrifting?  Food?  Porn?  Reality TV?  Books?  What is it?

Definitely food... and buying pretty things. So much loveliness in this post I don't know where to begin. I know what you mean about change in the air. I get that like sometimes. I normally end up changing my hair. I think it may be time for you to go full head pink. Or maybe a pastel colour??!! xxx

Boom box baby! Its gonna happen. We'l drink beer in the arbor and Jon can get slaving away. Isn't it looking fabulous? Your hard work has really paid off.
How cool is Holly's parcel? How on earth did she manage to send that and give birth? What came first?
Love the kitty in a cage and is that a poodle I spy?
The favourite dress and cowboy boots look amazing as does Kristi in her 1950s frock.
I feel the same way about colour and sunshine and friendships and booze and charity shops and great books and travel!
Speak soon?
Love youuuuuuuu xxxxxxx

It's colour, pattern, flowers and quiet for me. They all really make me happy. That little bird cage kitty with the phone is just so adorable, I love it. You are doing a great job on that arbour, that's a gorgeous red heart there. I can just picture Peetee sitting there while you were painting. Lovely. I'll be intrigued to see what you do with those patches. You are being so good, getting rid of stuff. I reckon it must be in the air, we all seem to be going through that phase at the moment. xxxxxxx

Um everything you listed? :D Can you feel fall in the mornings? I can and i'm ready. I came here for the grey, the sun was nice but i'm ready for something else. That intimate, sedate Portland I've grown to love. Bring on the soup!! Can't wait to see your beautiful colorful soul on Saturday!

I guess the question should be weakness -ES cause there are more than one.

Chocolate...home baked goods, vintage shopping, shopping, travelling, sex , creating, decorating, cooking, baking... Yeah...I've got a few.

I saw that amazing moon last night. Gorgeous!

Love the little spot in the garden you've created. It is so sweet. Nice when you see what you've accomplished on your own.

bisous

What a happy post! The bench is looking amazing, what a transformation, and I like to think of Peetee snuggled down watching you paint.
I don't think those pink handcuffs were from me... If they were, I don't remember them! Ha, getting old, can't remember anything these days!
Lovely package from Holly, aren't those patches fab? Both you and Cristi look amazing in your frocks, but I gotta tell ya - I don't believe you when you say that's your final bag purchase! Nope, sorry, I can't see it! Isn't it hard to resist something gloriously colourful, especially if it's cheap too?! That's my weakness too - colourful printed thrifted bargains I can wear!
Oh yes, you need a custom-made Jon boom box, wouldn't that be wonderful?
PS. please can we see the rest of the amazing floral dress in the final photo? xxxxxxx

oooh I can't wait to see how the arbor is going to turn out. You'll be the envy of the neighborhood when it's finished! Glad you like your package. And what's my weakness? Fast food, planning for the future and .99 eBay jewelry and accessories.

This post is like a merry-go-round of positivity so it's hard to jump aboard. Whoosh! The colour has a hold on me. The arbour is spectacular - fantastic resurrection. And the bird cage with the phone and cuffs. Ha! Really, you are a great artist. The neighbours must love it when you're out and about. Great goodies, clothes. My weakness? Chocolate and cheesecake probably.

The cats and I sat up and watched the Harvest Moon rise above the trees along the river last night, waiting for who knows what to appear from the mists...there are eagles nesting there for the first time in a century.

Your colors are ripe with energy, Krista, perhaps the arbor and your other projects are your artist's mode of harvesting this moon's bounty?

My weakness, as is the case with so many other Cancerians, is also my strength -- intense curiosity and a desire to collect odd items of interest.

I adore your creepy-cute dioramas/creations! I'm glad you included the phone so the kitty can call for help, emotional support, or order takeout pizza. I want to see more of the thrifted dress with the embroidered flowers and uneven hem.

You've done an amazing job on the arbor bench. The heart and flowers reminds me of the design on a small chest that belonged to my mother.

My weaknesses - thrifting, good chocolate, salty stuff (olives, feta, fries, chips), naps

Your bench is gorgeous and judging by the grimace the skellington looks like it just gave birth to the poodle!

That first paragraph is so beautiful! Wonderfully written.

It's always such a delight to dive into your colorful world, Krista, and splash around just a little bit! Love your new creations and the dress, and the purchases! That scarf is gorgeous! Love seeing you so happy and content.

My weakness is a freedom to do what I want to do and when I want to do it. No routine and schedule for me. :)

Love and hugs! xxxx
